රටට සේවය කිරීම එතැනින් නිමා නොවීය. මුළු දිවයිනටම සාමදාන විනිසුරු පදවියෙන් පිදුම් ලැබ, අනතුරුව රෙජිස්ට්රාර් ජනරාල් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට අනුයුක්තව කොළඹ දිස්ත්රික්කයේ කොළඹ කොට්ඨාසයේ විවාහ රෙජිස්ටර්වරයෙකු ලෙස ද ඔහු සේවය කල. ඒ සමගම දිවයින පුරා උපත්, මරණ හා විවාහ රෙජිස්ටර් සංගමයේ ලේකම්වරයෙකු ලෙස ද එහු කටයුතු කලා. ශ්රී සුගත සාසන බන්දු, දේශ විමුක්ති සංග්රාම විජය විභූෂණ, දේශමාන්ය, දේශබන්දු යන ගෞරව නාමයන්ගෙන් ඔහු පිදුම් ලැබීමට භාග්යය හිමි විය.
